Itinerary

Day 1: Reception at Bariloche
We will be waiting for you at the Bariloche Airport. Transfer to your hotel on the shore of the Nahuel Huapi lake, a cozy inn surrounded by nature, a few miles away from Bariloche. Introductory meeting. Afternoon to relax away, or walk through the magnificent surroundings.

Day 2: Bariloche – Mt. Tronador
Morning chairlift ride atop Mt. Campanario for an outstanding view of northern Patagonia.
From there, transfer along the shore of Gutierrez and Mascardi Lakes to the Pampa Linda Valley & Lodge, at the foot of Mt. Tronador. Our lodge is in a lovely setting and a perfect location for today’s and tomorrow’s adventures. After lunch, we horseback ride to the moraine of the Ventisquero Negro, the black glacier. Great views of Tronador’s upper and lower glaciers.

Optional Horseback Riding: 4 hours/ 8 miles ( total ).

Day 3: Tronador/ Hike to the Morenkoff ridge
We depart from Pampa Linda, and after a couple of miles, we cross the bridge over the Castaño Overa river. The trail ascends through forests of Cohihue trees.
Once on the ridge, we walk towards Tronador´s ice fields. The view of the Castaño Overa and Alerces glaciers with 400 mts cascades falling from the top is an amazing one…

Day 4: Villa la Angostura.
After an early breakfast, we shuttle for about three hours to Villa La Angostura, a small village within superb scenery on the shore of the largest lake of the region, the Nahuel Huapi. After some time for lunch at the village, we will take our bikes on a boat and sail the Nahuel Huapi to the Quetrihue Península, from where we will be cycling back through the cinnamon tonalities of the Arrayanes National Forest.

Mountain biking on biking trails- 12 Km. Diffulty level: Moderate

Day 5: Biking across the Cordoba Pass
Morning shuttle through a contrasting, almost deserted area…later on, a zigzag ascend will take us atop the Córdoba Pass, from where we take our bikes.. we bike passing wild rock formations as we enjoy the pure pleasure of the smooth descent toward the Caleufú River valley… the words remote and virgin come to mind… Picnic lunch by the Caleufú river. On the famous Seven lakes road we will cycle the remaining kms. to the charming town of San Martín de los Andes.

Cycling distance: 25 kms, on gravel roads. Difficulty level: Moderate

Day 6: San Martín de los Andes- Hike & Bike.
Morning leisure, or walk through this beautiful town. In the early afternoon board a small boat and navigate to Quila Quina, a small settlement by the Lacar lake and land of the Mapuches, native tribe of the area. As we ascend during our hike, we enjoy the quiet and untamed beauty of this land, with rewarding sights of the lake and peaks from Argentina & Chile.
Afterwards we will discover the warmth of a small mountain cabin became on a exclusive wine bar, where we will sample excellent Argentinean wines.

Day 7: Across the Andes towards Chile
Morning shuttle across the Andes ( 4 hrs). We pass at the foot of the Lanin Volcano (12,386’). Picnic lunch among a millenary forest of araucarias (monkey puzzle trees). Once in Chile, we reach a valley surrounded by several Volcanoes, among them the still active Villarrica. In this valley we take our bikes and ride aprox 38 km (24 miles) on rolling hills, to the village of Pucón. …..Superb biking through a magnificent countryside.

Cycling distance: 38 km on paved roads. Difficulty level: Moderate

Day 8: Pucón: Rafting in the Trancura river.
Morning rafting in the Bajo Trancura river (no previous experience needed).
