Itinerary

Welcome to Costa Rica!

Day 1: Arrive to San Jose (International Airport Juan Santamaria),  Transfer to Hotel in San José.  Overnight in San Jose.
You will be met on your arrival at Juan Santamaria International Airport by a tour representative and accompanied to your San Jose Hotel, located near the centre of San Jose. That first night you will prepare for your adventure tours.

What to wear: Confortable clothes.
Transfer duration: From International Airport to San Jose 30 minutes aprox.
Activity level: Easy.

Day 2 –  White Water Rafting Pacuare River.  Overnight at La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano) (BL)
After breakfast we head to the Rio Pacuare for a wonderful Class III-IV White Water Rafting trip. After a brief introduction to paddling, we launch our rafts down the mighty Pacuare River. We traverse eight miles of remote and scenic waters that course through a wilderness of dense vegetation that completely covers the riverbank. The numerous rapids are interspersed with stretches of calm, tranquil water providing an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding tropical beauty.

Arenal is one of the world's most active volcanoes, thundering and blowing since 1968. Arenal is located in the Tilaran Mountains and dominates the background of today's tour. We explore its National Park, and hike its trails through the forest to a safe viewing observatory from which you may see the majestic volcano's fireworks.

What to wear: Rubber-soled sandals, shorts or swimsuit, cap, towel, a dry set of clothes.
Transfer times: From La Fortuna to rafting base - 2 hour 30 minutes aprox.
Activity level: Moderate.

Day 3 –  Rappeling tour, Arenal Volcano hike and Baldi Hot Springs. Overnight at La Fortuna (BD)

First thing in the morning, head to one of the most adventourous tours you can experience in Costa Rica and specificly en the Arenal area. With 5 Rappels (4 waterfalls and 1 rock wall) in a rainforest, you will enjoy a rush of adrenaline and tons of fun. Have a vegetarian lunch on the base and head to the hotel to rest a little bit before your next tour. In the late afternoon, you will visit the Arenal Volcano look out point and after the thermal waters of Baldi Hot Springs.

What to wear: Rubber-soled sandals, shorts or swimsuit, cap, towel, a dry set of clothes.
Transfer times: 25 min aprox.
Tour duration: 5 hours.
Activity level: Moderate.

Day 4 – La Fortuna Waterfall tour (horseback riding), Van/Boat/Van to Monteverde. Overnight at Monteverde Area (B).

Enjoy your last day in the area visiting the marvelous La Fortuna Waterfall. To get to the entrance of the trail you will be transported by horseback riding, and the walk down 400 steps to get to the botton of the waterfall. You will have time to take pictures, enjoy the are and even take a swim on the little pond formed by the river fall.

Back to the hotel, you will be picked up around 2:00 p.m. to head to Monteverde, where the cloud forest is located. The transfer is made taking a van to the Arenal Lake, then a boat through the lake and finally a van to your hotel in Monteverde.

What to wear: Rubber-soled sandals, shorts or swimsuit, cap, towel, a dry set of clothes.
Transfer times: 15 min aprox.
Tour duration: 3 hours 30 minutes.
Activity level: Moderate.

Day 5 – Canopy Tour and Sky Walk experience on the Monteverde Reserve. Night Walk at Valle Escondido. Overnight at Monteverde (B).

Continue the fun by experiencing one of the most famous tours in Costa Rica: the canopy tour. Enjoy the zip linning activity from the first place it was ever created, plus the adrenaline rush of the Tarzan Swing and the Hanging Bridges, also called Sky Walk through the cloud forest.

In the late afternoon, you will have a chance to see the forest from yet another perspective: at night. Enjoy the night wildlife, the sounds and smells of nature on the dim hours of the day.

What to wear: Cap, jacket, boots or tenis shoes, confortable clothes.
Transfer times: 20 min aprox.
Tour duration: 5 hours

Day 6 – Transfer to Manuel Antonio Beach, free time at Manuel Antonio. Overnight at Manuel Antonio (B).

Just after a good breakfast, you will take a transfer to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica: Manuel Antonio. Located in the rain forest, mountain and beach get together to create a magestic landscape.

Day 7 – Manuel Antonio National Park Hike. Overnight at Manuel Antonio (B).

Day 8 - Transfer to San Jose.  Overnight at San José Hotel (B)

Day 9 – Transfer Out (International Airport)  (B).
