Itinerary

Day 01: U.S.    Rome. Depart U.S. for our overnight fl ight to Rome, Italy. Dinner will be served on board.

 

Day 02: Rome. Morning arrival into Rome. Our driver and tour escort will greet us at the airport. Transfer to our hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy Rome. Overnight in Rome.

 

Day 03: Rome. After a continental breakfast, we enjoy a morning half-day tour of Monumental Rome. Tour Via Veneto, famous for Fellini's movie “La Dolce Vita” and Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiad's Fountain, our promenade through the historical center starts with the famous Trevi Fountain to Piazza Navona; always quite lively and picturesque, with the Four Rivers Fountain and Bernini's masterpiece. Along the way we will admire Piazza Colonna with the Column of Marcus Aurelius and the Pantheon, with the widest dome in the world. Continue by coach to the Vatican, the heart of Christendom, passing by St. Angel's Castle. Visit Saint-Peter's Square and Saint-Peter's Basilica to admire, among others, the Pietà by Michelangelo. Return to hotels or nearest point. Lunch on your own with your afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Rome  - Assisi  - Siena  -  Florence. Early morning departure for Assisi, the mystic town of Saint Francis that is still surrounded by ancient walls. Visit the Basilica of Saint Francis with its early renaissance masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Proceed on to Siena, the beautiful medieval city renowned for the Palio. Then, off to Florence for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 05: Florence. This morning we will have a guided sightseeing tour of the “Cradle of the Renaissance.” Visit the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John, the Academy of Fine Arts Gallery housing the “David” by Michelangelo and the Santa Croce, the 13th century Franciscan church with Cimabue's famous crucifi x. Rest of the day at leisure for optional sightseeing or shopping. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

 

Day 06: Florence - Padua - Venice. After breakfast, depart for Venice via Padua where we will visit the famous Cathedral of St. Anthony, guarded by Donatello's “Gattamelata.” Continue on to Venice. Upon arrival, we enjoy a guided walking tour of this unique city. We will see the Piazza and Basilica of St. Mark, the Doges Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons. Dinner and overnight in Venice.

 

Day 07: Venice. This morning after breakfast enjoy a morning tour of a glass factory in Murano by motor launch. Afternoon is free to enjoy at leisure. Enjoy optional tours to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello by motor launch, which we will be happy to pre-arrange for you. Dinner and overnight at our Venice hotel.

 

Day 08: Venice    U.S. After a buffet breakfast, transfer to the airport for our flight to the U.S. (Transfers between 8:00pm-8:00am are additional.)
