Depending whether you favour the right or left bank, there are two wonderful choices in accommodation. Both are boutique hotels, member of Small Luxury Hotels and are featured in Travel+Leisure’s list of highest-rated hotels in the World.
If you prefer to stay on the right bank, home during your stay is a lovely château-hotel. Situated in the very French 16th arrondissement of Paris, this beautiful 100 year old château is unique as it is surrounded by its own walled garden. The hotel has 48 rooms and suites, all of them are spacious, quiet, and individually decorated with the rooms on the top floor having their own interior patios. In the summer, you may dine outside in the garden. The location is near the Arc de Triomphe, the Trocadero and Champs-Elysées, and walking distance from our cooking studio.
For those who love the left of the river, accommodation is at the sister hotel, a vast 15th century town mansion. Within a stone's throw of the Louvre and Notre-Dame, the hotel is located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a bustling district famous for its intellectual and artistic circles. Tucked in at the end of the narrow street, the hotel is a haven whose peaceful atmosphere in enhanced by its pleasant garden and flowers. This delightful and secluded luxury hotel has succeeded in preserving the privacy of the home it once was. The guest rooms are as chic in style as they are comfortable; some overlook the garden, some have private terraces. Breakfast is served in the vaults, once the abbey's kitchen.
Cooking course and market visit
Classes will start at 9:30am with a tour of a fresh food market, where we will shop for some of the seasonal and sometimes exotic ingredients. After, we will go to our chef’s private townhouse with a professional kitchen on the ground floor, conveniently located in the upscale 7th or 16th arr., minutes from the Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triomphe respectively.
When we arrive we will discuss the menu over coffee and prepare a three-course feast for the next few hours. We will finish with a delicious lunch we just prepared along with French wine specially selected for the cuisine. Class will end approximately 2pm. Course sizes are limited to six guests, guaranteeing ample opportunity to ask questions and savour the experience of spending the day with two Parisian insiders.
