Calling nine acres of park-like grounds home, the glorious Château and its cooking school are located just several miles from Yosemite National Park.  The ideal setting make it perfect for nature lovers who don’t want to sacrifice their fine bed linens and gourmet food while enjoying nature’s splendor.
Since its opening, the Inn has earned both the Mobil Five-Star and American Automobile Association's Five-Diamond awards.  During spring and autumn participate in our classes, in which the chef shares his secrets of award-winning cooking and presentation - a very unique opportunity to be in the kitchens of a master chef!

Cooking course

Our 3-day intensive courses at the cooking school, now in its twenty-forth year, takes place
during our glorious spring and autumn.
With enrollment limited to 12 students per session, our two chefs offer exciting classes filled
with recipes and techniques carefully crafted throughout their combined 30 years in the
kitchen. There are no pre-requisites necessary - all that is needed is an “open mind”, lots of
enthusiasm and comfortable shoes.

Itinerary

A typical class proceeds as follows: Students arrive at 8:30AM for the first of three 8-hour classes. Students are provided with crisply starched chef's "whites" and a steaming cup of coffee, then everyone meets for a half-hour of "theory" regarding the day's menu. Students then move into the kitchen for their hands-on education, where they may work at their own pace, focusing on their own particular interests - from entrees to soups to salads and desserts. Each day ends with a sit-down six-course dinner, allowing students to fully enjoy the fruits of their labor! Spouses or friends may join for the cost of the evening's fare.

To enhance your culinary adventure, an informative double wine seminar led by our Sommelier is included in the program - "Learning the Secrets of Wine" and "Pairing Food and Wine".

This marvelous three days conclude with a beautiful awards dinner, where each "graduate" is presented with a well earned diploma.

Stay an extra night to explore the park’s splendors, offering a plethora of outdoor pursuits, including golf, fishing, river rafting, and horseback riding.....
