Itinerary
Arrive at Tocuman International Airport (PTY) and taxi you to your hotel in Panama City to prepare for the upcoming adventure.
Day 1: Panama City Tour
Sunday: We have a full day to explore this fantastic city! Starting with an incredible view from atop Cerro Ancon before we head to Miraflores Locks and museum on the canal. We follow the Panama Canal to Punta Culebra (owned by the Smithsonian) where we might see sloths, iguanas and some of Panama’s marine life, all while learning about the history of Panama, the canal, and the ships passing through. Have lunch on the Amador Causeway with fantastic views of the city skyline before a final stop in old town (Casco Viejo) for a tour that will take you back in time. Enjoy your 2nd night in the city.
Day 2: Portobelo Adventure
Monday: Snorkel in the Caribbean and Zip line in the jungle. Discovered by Columbus, attacked by pirates and gateway to 1/3rd of the world’s gold, Portobelo is another UNESCO world heritage site that has to be seen! (Hotel in Panama City) Click HERE to see a detailed itinerary.
Day 3: Jungle Tour
Tuesday: Visit the monkeys and the Indians and head to the hills! Soberania is full of wildlife and is a wonderful place to watch for monkeys, sloth, the Harpy Eagle and hundreds of bird species. (Hotel in El Valle)
Day 4: El Valle-Santa Catalina
Wednesday: After a welcome night in El Valle, we will have all morning to explore. I will guide my favorite hike on the India Dormida Trail and other options are horse and bike rides, visit the market and waterfalls or just relax! After lunch we will head to Santa Catalina. (Hotel in Santa C.)
Day 5: Santa Catalina/Coiba
Thursday: Otherwise known as the poor man’s Galapagos, Coiba is one of those hard to reach places that are worth the effort of getting there! You have the options of snorkeling or diving when you visit the World Heritage site where you might just see a whale shark! Other options are kayaking, fishing, surfing and relaxing on one of the world’s best surf beaches (2nd night in Santa Catalina)
Day 6: Boquete
Friday: We will head out in the morning and drive to Boquete. Boquete is nestled into the mountains and is the adventure capital of Panama. On the way we can stop at some hot springs. The next day, you will be able to choose options like coffee tours, zip lining canopy tours, hiking to the continental divide or maybe a volcano. There’s also rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, rock climbing. (Hotel in Boquete)
Day 7: Boquete
Saturday: Free day for Rafting or hiking, or maybe zip lines. Also available are coffee tours, horse rides and more. (Hotel in Boquete) Click HERE for more details.
Depart for Panama City that night or the next morning and catch your flight home.
