Itinerary

One of the closest and most popular day trips from Rome is our private tour to Tivoli from Rome. Tivoli is a wonderful escape from the chaos and masses of Rome. You won't regret taking a day trip from Rome to visit Tivoli.

Our driver and Mercedes Sedan or Viano van will pick you up at your hotel at about 8:00 AM. You will make your way out of central Rome and Northeast to Tivoli, where the stunning archeological ruins of Hadrian's Villa. Built by emporor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD, mosaics, baths, and artifacts including marble sculpures of the emporor's lover, Antinous can still be seen today. Hadrian was emporer of Rome from 117 to 138 AD He was an avid patron of the arts and architecture, and is known for the commission of buildings such as Hadrian's Wall, the Pantheon, and the Temple of Venus and Roma.

Our driver will be sure to recommend a charming little trattoria where you can enjoy some great local fare, or you can feel free to just wander around and enjoy a meal at any of the nearby restaurants.

After lunch, we will continue on to Villa D'Este, built for the Cardinal Ippolito D'Este, son of Lucrezia Borgia. Villa D'Este is a luxurious villa, surrounded by breathtaking gardens, walkways, and over 450 water fountains.
