Itinerary

Schedule:
Volunteers typically work 20 to 25 hours per week for one or two semesters (depending on the program) and take breaks according to the school schedule. Exact working times may vary depending on the needs and schedules of your school.

What Volunteers Can Do:

Volunteers in this program will teach English to a class of school-aged children or adults for one or two semesters. You will serve an important role as a native speaker in encouraging and motivating reserved students in practicing their oral English skills. Participants are responsible for planning their classes with the help of a bilingual supervisor according to your students' needs. In addition, volunteers help with homework, organize games, and assist with administrative work. As a longer term volunteer, you will also have the opportunity to become involved in school life and activities outside of the classroom. Program participants will serve as ambassadors to their students while learning about and participating in Chinese culture.
