Patagonia, a world of vast blue skies, deep blue glaciers and towering snow capped peaks. A motorcycle tour through this region will be some of the greatest biking moments of your life. This motorcycle tour is a scenic overload, beginning in the Chilean Lakes district town of Pucon we ride into Argentina and onto Bariloche, via the famous seven lake ride, every inch is a scenic splendour. Further south we enter the vast and remote Patagonia stopping overnight at a, still working, Estancia before riding into more sensational scenery as we hit the Andes at El Chalten. No tour to this region should miss the incredible Moreno Glacier, we ride our bikes out to this staggeringly beautiful part of Patagonia before riding into Torres Del Paine National Park. This place will leave you awe struck and we dare to say that it is possibly the most scenic motorcycle ride in the world. This is an incredible motorcycle tour through some of the most amazing landscapes, most remote regions and most mythical areas in the world, no wonder its our top selling tour.

I wanted to send a quite note to all the Compass Team to say thanks. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and sincerely appreciate the efforts of Leo, Tarvo and Andy. These guys really went the extra step in ensuring that everything went smoothly on the trip. Thanks also to all those who assisted in organising the tour, it really was as good as I hoped it would be.
I hope to able to do another tour with Compass in the future but will need some time for funds and annual leave to recuperate!

    Thanks again

What an amazing tour. Given that neither of us have done more than farm track and car park gravel before, to say it was hard work was an understatement, but with leo's guidance, a real learning experience. Leo, was awesome. Lots of knowledge, very friendly, always smiling, great sense of humour, first class person. Tavo could not do enough to please everyone, what a great guy. Andy, tried so hard to please, very friendly guy a real asset to the team. As for the Compass organisation - wow. Nothing was not thought of, every little detail was covered. The support & backup were first class & I doubt could not be bettered. As for the locations & scenery! Patagonia was always somewhere as a young rock climber I always wanted to come to but never got the chance, now I have seen the best of it with Compass, it has gone way beyond my expectations, a wonderful & enchanting place.

This trip has inspired us to do more. We will be riding with you again for sure, now we have coped with some tough terrain.

Thankyou again for one, if not THE best experience of a life time

Itinerary

Week One
We begin this tour in the Chilean capital of Santiago, before flying south to the scenic wonderland of Pucon, nestled at the foot of Volcan Villarrica, deep within the Chilean lake district. Leaving Pucon we enjoy a wonderful ride through stunning alpine vistas and cross into Argentina and onto the world famous Seven Lakes Drive to Bariloche spectacularly located on the shores of lake Nahuel Huapi, where we spend 2 nights. From Bariloche we ride onto Esquel at the foothills of the Western Chubut Province, and terminus of the legendary Patagonian Express train. Further south we ride, surrounded by stunning wilderness and silence, before overnighting at the remote settlement of Perito Moreno on the Patagonian Steppe. Further south we hit the Ripio (dirt roads) and ride onto Estancia La Angostura a working sheep station where we try a traditional Asado (B.B.Q).

Week Two

We are on the Ripio all day as we head further south for the wonderful mountain hamlet of El Chalten, with the massive Fitzroy Range towering behind. We spend two nights here with the opportunity to stretch our legs amongst the mountains. Riding further south we reach El Calafate where we spend two nights, enabling us to visit the incomparable Moreno Glacier. At 30ks/19ml long, 5ks/3ml wide and 60m/197ft high, the glacier is one of those “take your breath away” moments. Continuing on we stop at what is possibly the jewel in the Patagonian crown, Parque Nacional Torres Del Paine. Two full days will be spent riding around the park at your leisure. Perhaps we shall ride and trek to the spires of Torres or visit Grey Glacier or simply ride amongst mother natures finest, the choice is yours. Motorcycling simply cannot get any better, you will be stunned.

Week Three

Leaving Torres we ride more Ripio onto Puerto Natales with the waters of Seno Ultima Esperanza lapping the roadside. By mid afternoon we reach our penultimate stop, staying in the tiny isolated hamlet of Cerro Sombero. A big day’s ride follows as we cross the Magellan Straits and onto Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia, Fin del Mundo (end of the world). We spend our last day enjoying our last ride to the very end of the Pan American Highway.
