After leaving Rio de Janeiro the cyclists on the SambaTango Bike Expedition will enjoy following the coast road from Rio to Santos, pass through intense rain forests like the Juréia Reserve, enjoy riding on the sandy beach and cycle along the beautiful islands from Cananéia all the way to Paranaguá.
Then it is up the Graciosa Road up to cycling mad city of Curitiba, followed by a ride along Brazil's first bike touring route, the Circuito Vale Europeu). Heading back to the coast, riders will spin through the southern mountains (Serra do Corvo Branco, Serra do Rio do Rastro, Canyon Fortaleza, Canyon do Itambeizinho; slow roads, snails, snow and wine.
Add in the world´s largest beach (Cassino Beach), the Taim Reserve and cities like Florianópolis, Porto Alegre, Montevideo and Buenos Aires and it is a ride like no other.

Facts and Figures
The Tour features 30 cycling days or stages, averaging 100 kms each, broken up by 6 rest days for a total of 36 days.
Tour d’Afrique Ltd. provides the framework and support systems, including: tour staff, nutritious meals, campsites and other accommodations, daily routes and logistics, optional side trips, and the overland vehicles that transport the bulk of your baggage each day.
In addition to your entry fee, airfare, insurance, and visas, you are responsible for bringing a bike, riding gear, spare parts, tent, sleeping bag, personal funds and medications, as well as the adventurous spirit, physical conditioning, and mental stamina that will enable you to enjoy your journey to the fullest.
Participation and Eligibility
The SambaTango Bike Expedition is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 75.
There are two types of participants:
· Full tour riders, who make up the majority of participants, and who cycle the daily distances at their own pace.
· Sectional riders who ride a portion of the tour, from a 1-2 week section to half or more of the distance.
