The Overland Track holds a legendary status as one of the finest walks in Australia. Suitable for first time bushwalkers who are ready to carry a full pack, this unforgettable trek along a graded trail through the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area will take you from the stunning crags of Cradle Mountain to the rainforest-clad shores of Lake St. Clair. Every step will lead to new discoveries and some of mother nature's finest creations including waterfalls, dolerite mountains, lakes, tarns and diverse ecosystems. Rest by a cool mountain stream, admire the view of a glassy lake reflecting the surrounding peaks or be intrigued by the delicate cushion plants thriving amongst alpine extremes. The itinerary is designed to travel at a relaxed pace to allow you to fully appreciate the many highlights and side trips you'll undertake along the way. Food drops and modern lightweight equipment will keep your backpacks relatively light while your experienced guides will help bring the track to life thanks to their local knowledge & enthusiasm for the Tasmanian wilderness. The 10 day Overland Track Explorer including Pine Valley is also available on select departures. Or try a mid winter snow shoe expedition for a real alpine challenge.
