Itinerary

In a Caribbean world of wicker, floral patterns and gingerbread trim, Amanyara is as alien as they come. It's no wonder they picked a remote corner of Providenciales Island to build their ultra-modern resort; in an otherwise empty national park, far from the touristy hubub of Grace Bay, Amanyara can play by it's own rules.

With daily direct flights from both New York and Toronto, the Turks and Caicos are always just a few hours away. Upon arrival at Provo airport, you'll be escorted into a sleek white Land Rover and whisked off to to the far west of the island, along a rugged coastline dotted with fishing boats and conch shacks. Your ultimate destination is so striking that it can reasonably hold its ground against the fine white sand and perfect shades of turquoise that dominate the island.

Amanyara is an architectural dream—somehow both subtle and over the top all at the same time, it's difficult to take your eyes off of it. Slender, intricately placed wooden beams form the frame of each airy pavillion. The many open entryways and windows allow for perfect views of the jungle or pondscape, while every suite is spaced apart generously from the others to ensure each guest's privacy. That kind of seclusion may be one of the top draws for the A-listers who frequent the place; I won't name any names, but there is always some stargazing to be done in the common areas at this prime hideaway.

Aman is a hotel group from the east making the Caribbean work the way they want—with a primarily Filipino service staff who make near-prescient service a top priority. Make no mistake, this is truly a resort, and guests should be aware that it's a place where you will rarely leave the grounds. But if your aim is pure and unadulterated relaxation in finely tailored surroundings, look no further.
