Our expedition will depart from Pond Inlet, the gateway hamlet to Sirmilik National Park for the ice edge. We will travel over the pack ice, arriving late in the day to our base camp. For the next week, weather and ice conditions permitting, we will travel from our base camp via ski doo, or via dog team if snow conditions permit, to the ice edge, traveling underneath the spectacular cliffs of Bylot Island. Skis are available if you prefer. Along the way we will spend time observing and photographing, and will include a visit to a Thule archeological site. We will sea kayak the open water if conditions permit, and there will be ample opportunity to hike nearby peaks.

The drama in this magnificent Arctic landscape will leave you awestruck and inspired to photograph, while you have a fabulous learning experience seeing first hand traveling with the Baffin Inuit and witnessing the survival of the marine wildlife at the ice edge. This is a classic Arctic adventure, an unparalleled opportunity not to be missed.
