Itinerary

Day 1 Delhi (D)

Arrive at any time and transfer to hotel, Indian feast welcome dinner.
Day 2 Delhi/Varanasi (B,L)

Walking tour of Old Delhi, visit Jama Masjid (Great Mosque), Raj Ghat: Cremation Garden of Mahatma Gandhi, Chandni Chowk local market, Q'tub Minar (Victory Tower) and Gurduwara (a Sikh place of worship). Afternoon fly to Varanasi, sunset boat trip on the Ganges river to observe local ceremonies.
Day 3 Varanasi (B,L)

Sunrise boat trip along the Ganges to observe the dawn rituals of bathing and burial. Afternoon we take a language class to learn the basics and visit to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon.
Day 4 Khajuraho (B,L)

Fly to Khajuraho and visit the Western Temples, famous for their erotic sculptures depicting scenes from the Kama Sutra. We also take a yoga class and enjoy a local Kandariya Dance Show.
Day 5 Agra (B,L)

Meet some local people on our train ride to Agra.
Days 6 Agra / Ranthambore (B)

Visit and exploration of the Taj Mahal, cyclo-rickshaw ride through the busy streets of Agra and visit to the Red Fort. Later travel to Ranthambore National Park.
Day 7 Ranthambore National Park (B,L,D)

Explore Ranthambore National park with local naturalists/rangers on two safari drives in search of deer, birds, leopard and monkeys - if we are lucky, we may even see one of the resident tigers. We also walk up the ruins of Ranthambore Fort and pay respects at the Ganesh temple.
Days 8-9 Jaipur (2B,1L)

Travel to Jaipur where we learn more of India's history with visits to the City Palace, Palace of the Winds and impressive Amber Fort.
Days 10-11 Rawla Jojawar (1B,1D)

Drive to Jojawar and spend 2 nights in an historic, heritage hotel. Explore the Village with the opportunity to meet with locals who provide insight into rural village life in India. Also enjoy a countryside rural train safari through the Aravali Hill ranges.
Days 12-13 Udaipur (2B,1D)

Travel to Udaipur and take an orientation walk including a visit to Lake Pichola and Lake Palace. On day 2, we explore the City Palace and Jagdish Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Day 14 Delhi (B,D)

Flight to Delhi and farewell dinner.
Day 15 Delhi (B)

Depart at any time.
