After three decades of warfare, Afghanistan continues to strive towards reconstruction, despite weaning support for the NATO-backed government and the Taliban insurgency. Within this challenging environment, Afghan women are taking reconstruction, coupled with creating social change, into their own hands.

On this tour, you will experience first-hand, the inspirational work of Afghan grassroots organizations, speaking to many of the women leading the drive for change.Specifically participants will explore the current political landscape and the challenges facing grassroots organizations in reconciling a history of conflict with today's needs and threats.

Day 1
    Greeting at Kabul International Airport
    Transfer to Afghans4Tomorrow (A4T) guesthouse

    Orientation
    Tour in Kabul, change money

    Visit A4T schools, meet teachers, visit classes, visit gift shop

    Meeting with a female Parliament member
    Visit your airline to confirmation your return ticket if needed

    Visit Fatema Akbary Women Carpentry Workshop and association
    Meeting with PARWAZ organization
    Lunch  
    Meet with a member of the Afghan Women Union Organization

Day 4
    Visit ICRC Orthopedic Center for mine victims
    Visit Omar Mine Museum

Day 5
    Go see the Buzkashi (a traditional sport played on horseback)

    Go to watch kite flying

Day 6
    Attend Women’s Day celebration
    Lunch
    Visit Darul Aman palace and Kabul Museum
    Visit King Babur Shah garden

    Visit Aschiana Street Children Training Center - meet the manager and visit their children classes
