Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive
Arrive in Gonggar Airport; see Tsedang, the cradle of Tibetan Civilization; visit Yumbulakhang and Tramdruk temple. Overnight in Tsedang.

Day 02: Tsedang – Lhasa
Visit Samye Monastery, the first monastery founded in Tibet in the 8th Century transfer to Lhasa. Take a stroll onto Barkhor Street, part of the worshipers pilgrimage circuit. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 03: Lhasa
Morning visit Big Thangka in Drepung Monastery, one of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet (the other two are Sera and Ganden); afternoon visit Big Thangka in Sera Monastery, a place for worship and the most famous academy in Tibet; join the bonfire party in the evening. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 04: Lhasa
Visit Norbulinka, the former summer residence of the Dalai Lama, where local people always gather during the holiday for family picnic; have picnic with local Tibetan Museum to retrace the history and culture of Tibet; visit local Tibetan home to celebrate the festival with the family members to gain a more personal and grounded understanding of their daily life and the culture. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 05: Lhasa
Morning pilgrimage route around Potala Palace together with local people; visit Potala Palace, the symbol of Lhasa; visit Jokhang Temple, considered the most significant religious structure for all Tibetans. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 06: Depart
Transfer to airport for connecting flight back home. End of Service.
