Itinerary
expedition route & itinerary
The Patagonia adventure philanthropy expedition begins Saturday, Mar. 23, in El Calafate, following your overnight arrival from abroad. On Sunday, we'll start early on a day-long trek on the Perito Moreno glacier, one of the few glaciers that is still growing. On Monday, we'll ride 3 hours north to enjoy the rugged charm of El Chalten, our launchpad for 3 full days of hiking and kayaking adventure.
In the evenings, we’ll enjoy Patagonia's remarkable wine selection, eat heartily of the Argentine cuisine, and relax by firelight.
We’ll then fly three hours north to Buenos Aires, the city in which we’ll complete our 3-day volunteer project. Evenings will be spent exploring the food, nightlife and inspired way of life that has made the city famous.
You need not be a Master of the Universe athlete to enjoy this adventure! Just be in proper shape for a week of activity at your own pace.
your volunteer project
Following our Patagonia adventure, we’ll spend 3 days in Buenos Aires working in cooperation with Voluntario Global, whom we partnered with in March 2011. We'll be working side-by-side with the community and the remarkable Valeria, Voluntario Global's director, to renovate a local primary school for 3-5 year old children and build them a community garden.
