Itinerary

Day 1: Rendezvous in Seattle * Lunch in Anacortes, gateway to the San Juan Islands * Scenic ferry ride to Friday Harbor, the main town on San Juan Island * Get to know each other over welcome dinner at a waterfront restaurant * 3 nights at the Earthbox Motel & Spa, Friday Harbor

Day 2:  Sea kayak along unspoiled coastline with a knowledgeable guide (no experience required) * Hike and picnic at the only whale watching park in the country
 
Day 3: Hike to historic sites from the  infamous Pig War, and enjoy the vistas from Mt. Young * Cruise the orcas' favored waters, on a whale-watching expedition with a local naturalist
 
Day 4:  Take a walk on a sweeping, driftwood-strewn beach * Ferry to Orcas Island, largest of the chain * Ride the wind on an afternoon sailing trip with an expert captain *OR* enjoy a soothing spa massage * 2 nights at the Eastsound Landmark Inn

Day 5: Hike up Mt. Constitution for 360 degree views, or shuttle up & hike down * Visit a tiny hamlet with a co-op of local artists * Farewell dinner at one of the finest restaurants in the islands * Laugh with your new friends as you linger over dessert

Day 6: Last chance for photo op's on the ferry back to the mainland * Lunch in a quaint, historic town overlooking the water * Shuttle back to Seattle, where we say our goodbyes
