It becomes an integrating moment for the visitor who wants to learn more about the historical period of the Renaissance, so full of novelty in the processing of figurative language, going through the key moments in a journey winding through the city center and the places in the area of Siena marked by the passage of most significant artists of the time.
Places which become a meeting places, not to be missed, for anyone who wants to penetrate not only the art soul of the Renaissance of the fifteenth century in Siena, but also its social, economic and religious history.
The two main poles of Siena, represented by civilian authorities (the Public Palace and the Hospital of Santa Maria della Scala) and religious (the Cathedral) preserve the most important moments of this cultural ferment.
Inside the Palazzo Pubblico the magnificent Hall of the Consistory was decorated by Domenico Beccafumi with episodes of civic virtue, a work lasted from 1529 to 1535: mannerism emphasis, vivid colours, illusionist bold compositions attract the viewer in one of the most fascinating series of paintings of the period.

Itinerary
Nearby, in Via dei Pellegrini, which leads to the Baptistery, the same Beccafumi elaborated a complex evocation of episodes with mythological and ancient history personalities commissioned by the owner Marcello Agostini, work recognized as one of the highest expressions of the Italian sixteenth century, one of the "secrets" places in a building still privately owned.
Almost in front of it there is the Palazzo del Magnifico, residence of Pandolfo Petrucci, Lord of Siena, at that time lavish aristocratic residence, decorated by leading artists in Siena at the turn of the fifteenth century, remaining today only an architectural structure because the furniture and decorations were dismembered in the nineteenth century and are now exhibited in local and foreign museums.
For the Cathedral of Siena the most innovative artists of the fifteenth century in Siena conceived the main painting and sculptural cycles: Bernardino di Betto, called Pinturicchio, was commissioned the fresco of the Piccolomini Library, created to store the library of Pope Pius II (Enea Silvio Piccolomini) and to celebrate the glories narrating the events representing them with extraordinary elegance, sharp narrative feel, formal elegance and exuberance of colours.
The stay includes:
- 7 nights including breakfast
- A guided tour of Siena with visit to the crypt of the Cathedral
- 3 dinners at a restaurant of the chain Vetrina Toscana a Tavola
- 1 sole ticket to visit the Museums of the itinerary
- A sampling of Vernaccia di San Gimignano
