Ahhichatragarh Fort, meaning ‘Fort of the Hooded Cobra’ dates back to the 4th century. This Fort and Palace complex has passed through the hands of Mughal Emperors to the Maharaja of Jodhpur, with whom it remains today. His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II has dedicated the last 20 years, along with the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, The Getty Foundation and the Lady Helen Hamlyn Trust, to the meticulous restoration of this magnificent heritage property. Today, the 18th century residence of the Queens has been transformed into elegant havelis.
A two hour drive from Jodhpur will find you deep in the heart of India’s romantic state of Rajasthan where you can enjoy 2 nights of historic luxury, local Mughal Sufi cuisine, and the surroundings of this evocative residence.
Your stay will include a visit to the Fort and the Museum and a sunset excursion to the sand dunes where you will experience a camel ride.

I was in India as your client through Gail Rosenberg ( Largay Travel ) in March.
I would be remiss if I did not write and tell you how impressed we were every day of our trip with your guides, drivers and representatives! There was not one misstep during our wonderful trip to India…Infact, we have become, one of many I am sure, your best PR people for Greaves!
All of the people we met through your company were friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and willing to do anything that would make our trip even more enjoyable!
We loved all of our accommodations and tours.
Thank you for a wonderful and memorable trip…..we look forward to returning and visiting new sights and sounds of India!

I wanted to take the time to thank you for all the hard work you put in to arrange a magical honeymoon for Gayle and I. We had a ball. All the transfers worked like clockwork, the hotels were great and the route planning excellent.
We will be back.

Itinerary
DAY 1 JODHPUR – NAGAUR
Arrive Jodhpur and transfer by road to Nagaur, and your hotel the Ranvas Haveli. During the 18th Century, the ruling Maharaja of the time, Bakhat Singh, sought to create a refuge from the external troubles of warfare and politics. The result was a pleasure palace. Evoking the senses through artistic pleasures, from the sound of water fountains, to vivid fresco paintings and perfectly constructed geometric gardens. Within the magnificent Nagaur Fort lies the 18th century residence of the Ranis (queens) of Maharaja Bakht Singh of Jodhpur, which have been meticulously restored to offer elegant accommodation within these 10 Haveli’s. Each Haveli is named after one of the Ranis. In these well preserved queenly residences guests have the chance to experience a living heritage. This is a heritage property in the purest sense – a regal residence, from which to explore Ahhichatragarh (Nagaur) Fort.
Later walk through Nagaur town visiting the Buland Darwaza chhatris, temples and local bazaar.
DAY 2 NAGAUR
This morning visit the historic 12th century Ahhichatragarh Fort and its museum. This stone fortress with Rajput and Mughal architecture from the 16th to 18th centuries has been subject to comprehensive conservation since early 1993, under the management of Mehrangarh Museum Trust.
After time at leisure, this evening’s excursion is a camel ride through the Sand Dunes.
DAY 3 NAGAUR – JODHPUR
Morning transfer by road to Jodhpur airport (approximately 2 hours drive) to connect with flight for onward destination.
