Itinerary
Day 1/2/3 - Kalahari - Jack's Camp
A safari to Jack's Camp is a complete desert experience focusing on species unique to the area such as aardvark, gemsbok and springbok. It is the only place where guests are virtually guaranteed to see the rare and elusive brown hyaena and be able to walk through the Kalahari with a gang of habituated, but wild, meerkats.
Day 4/5/6 - Okavango Delta - Mombo Camp
You will fly over one of the world’s most distinctive regions, the Okavango Delta – the earth’s largest inland water system, en route to Chief’s Island in the Moremi Concession.
As you fly over, it is interesting to contemplate the origins of the scene below. The delta’s headwaters start in Angola’s western highlands, with numerous tributaries joining to form the Cubango River which then flows through Namibia, and finally enters Botswana, where it is then called the Okavango.
Hidden from the world, Mombo Camp is situated deep within Moremi, just off the north-western tip of Chief's Island and you and the other guests have exclusive use of this concession.
Day 7/8/9 - Savuti - Zarafa
You will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to the Zarafa Airstrip in the southern part of the Linyanti. You will spend three nights at Zarafa.
This area is a prime wildlife location. The reserve is bordered to the north by the Linyanti River and the east by the Chobe National Park. This region has all the diversity to make it a haven for wildlife. There are excellent grasslands and waterholes along the Savuti Channel and the Linyanti River. Inland there are enormous acacia and mopane forests, which sustain large numbers of elephants; in fact, the area is renowned for its dense elephant population and for some of the best elephant viewing anywhere in Africa in the winter months. Zebra, buffalo, lion, wild dog, hyena, monkey, baboon, hippo and crocodile are also among the more concentrated game.
Day 10/11 - Livingstone - Toka Leya
You will fly to Livingstone, Zambia. You will stay for two nights at the Toka Leya on the Zambezi River near the falls.
After crossing into Zambia, we drive through beautiful teak forests and African villages, stopping to visit the old cathedral of Mwandi. We arrive in the early afternoon at the new Toka Leya Camp situated on the banks of the Zambezi River in the eastern sector of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, upstream from the Victoria Falls
Day 12 En Route To Europe / the US
