Day 1 & 2: Victoria Falls, Livingstone

Meet your guide from Stanley Safari Lodge outside the terminal at Livingstone International Airport. You have two days to relax and explore this beautiful area. The range of activities in the Livingstone area (including the Victoria Falls) is enormous. All of these activities do involve, at least to a certain extent, the Victoria Falls or the Zambezi River. You can see the Falls from across the gorge or from Livingstone Island. Or you can opt for a helicopter flight or micro light to enjoy the Falls from above. Or you might want to go on the river for a sunset cruise, river safari, canoe trip or, for the more adventurous, go rafting on one of the best rafting trips in the world. If you didn’t have enough adventure you can go for a bungee jump, gorge swing or abseil. Alternatively you can enjoy an elephant back safari and take your time getting to know these remarkable animals. (Adventure activities on own account). Overnights Stanley Safari Lodge. Days 3, 4 & 5: Okavango Delta

After breakfast you will be transferred by road to Kasane airport about 2 hours away for your onward air transfer to the Northern Okavango Delta and your camp on the edge of the renowned Moremi Concession. This region offers a contrasting experience, as its location allows access to the permanent waterways of the Delta as well as expansive dry land areas, admired for their quality game viewing. Kwara offers, within the exclusive concession in which the camp is located, a wide variety of activities. In addition to game drives, both day and night, the camp offers game walks and mokoro trips, as well as power boating and fishing. Overnights Kwara Camp. All meals & drinks.

Day 6, 7 & 8: Linyanti & Kwando Reserve

After breakfast and maybe one last game drive you return to the airstrip for the flight to Lagoon Camp. The camp is situated in the Kwando Reserve, a huge private reserve covering 2,300km in the Linyanti region of Northern Botswana. Most of its western side is dense mopane forest, but along the Kwando River is a band of lush riverine forest, interspersed with open plains. The area attracts superb big game, especially during Botswana’s dry season when elephants may seem to be everywhere. Additionally the Lagoon wild dog pack regularly den close to the camp and the excellent viewing opportunities abound around the denning season in June.

The activities concentrate on open vehicle game drives and boat cruises. A special feature of Lagoon Camp is the river boat experience. The flow of the river enables the double decker boat to drift with the flow in silence, which is perfect for bird watching and game viewing. Game walks are on offer but are at the guides’ discretion due to the concentrations of elephant. Lagoon Camp offers off road and night game drives, offering guests to see the fascinating nocturnal wildlife in the area.Fishing is also a specialty here and those who are keen will have an opportunity to catch the fighting tiger fish, bream, catfish and pike. Fishing can be done from the front of your tent at Lagoon due to its situation, but please note that fishing opportunities vary throughout the year. Lagoon Camp subscribes to the catch and release policy, but exceptions can be made if you wish to eat your fish. Overnights Lagoon Camp. All meals & drinks.

Day 9 & 10: Nxai Pan National Park

Fly from the lush Northern Botswana region to the Arid southern desert today. The Nxai Pan National Park was founded in the early 1970′s, along with the Makgadikgadi Pans Game Reserve. These two protected areas were joined in 1992, to form the Makgadikgadi National Park, a 7500 km area incorporating Ntwetwe Pan, Makgadikgadi Pans, Nxai Pan, Baines’ Baobabs and Kudiakam Pan. The vast Makgadikgadi Pans areas are the last evidence of a prehistoric super lake that was once found here, and today is a one of the last true wilderness area left in Africa. Famous explorers, who passed through this region on their way to the “interior”, included David Livingstone, James Chapman and Thomas Baines.

Nxai Pan itself is well known for its huge springbok and gemsbok populations, and is the only natural place where one can see impala and springbok living together. Once the summer rains have begun (late November to March) migratory species such as zebra and wildebeest begin to move to the Nxai Pan in the thousands. Hundreds of elephants make their way to the area from the Chobe and Okavango to feed. These large herds of animals attract many predators including lion, cheetah, wild dog, leopard and both spotted and the more elusive brown hyena. White Rhino are also occasionally sighted. Also to be seen are the Livingstone’s eland, greater kudu and red hartebeest. Activities offered at Nxai Pan are game drives, day trips to the famous Baines’ Baobabs and Khama Khama Pan, star gazing, as well as nature walks with Bushman trackers.

Day 11: Depart

Following the morning activity you will be transferred to Maun by road, for their onward travel arrangements.
