Spend 3 days running the best white water the Lower Klamath River of Northern California has to offer. Class III and IV rapids like pre Ike, Ike Falls, lunch box, and Big Ike will get your adrenaline pumping and have you sailing over large roller coaster waves! This trip is so popular we do a special guides and friends trip here every year just because the guides love it so much.
If you have paddled the Rogue River or the Salmon River with us, the Klamath River hotshot is the next notch in your paddling belt. These trips are typically camping, although we are certainly not roughing it. Dutch oven desserts accompany nights relaxing around the campfire with your favorite cocktail as you laugh and relive the stories of the day. The final night we huddle around the laptop to watch a slideshow of the trips pictures and make sure we snapped a great photo of you.
This trip is offered in Orange Torpedo’s and paddle rafts. We strongly recommend reserving this trip in June when the water is at the best flows. We also recommend that if you want to paddle an Orange Torpedo kayak that you have been with us on another multi-day trip where you paddled an inflatable kayak. We also recommend this trip for people 12 years old and up only.

"This is a belated thank you for the wonderful rafting trip that I enjoyed with my daughter and her 2 daughters. Mike, the kayak guide, was wonderful with my 2 granddaughters as well as Anna, the oard raft guide. Thank you again, Linda"

"Eric, I missed you on our return back to the shop following our three day Rogue River Kayaking trip. Wanted to let you know what an outstanding time my family had and thank you and your team for such a great adventure. This was our first time on the river, and the first time going down a river in our own boats. It was exciting, interesting, relaxing, all wrapped up in a single trip!
Thinking back, there were a number of things that made the trip great besides the scenery and the river:
Guides
Clearly, this makes or breaks the trip, and our guide team, led by Mike, were outstanding in their knowledge of the river, ability to work with client's range of abilities, and their general good spirits in making the trip fun while focussing on safety.
Equipment
The kayaks were great, but so was the large supply raft which my wife and daughter traded between. It was a good balance for them, while I liked the kayaks end to end.
Lodging/Meals
Although I hear the camping trip on the Snake River is a good time, it was nice to get some lazy boy treatment at the lodges along the river; great hospitality, hot shower, soft bed, and great food.
Good company
Icing on the cake was the group you put together 20 clients from different parts of the country with various backgrounds. This made it fun and interesting to connect with people you might not otherwise get the opportunity to converse with. With my family ranging in age from 14 to 50, we all found this a bonus.
My wife and kids can't wait to receive your DVD, as the pictures and video shows of our group were fun to watch at the lodge on the 2nd night. Anyway, I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that this was a great value and something we will look forward to again!
Thanks again, to you and your team. Paul"

"I just wanted to send a quick e-mail to thank you for a great trip last weekend. It was amazing as always! Everything was perfect: guides, water, weather, food, drink, lodges etc. As much as I thought I was going to miss not having some of my old favorite guides on the trip it was great to meet some new folks! Jen, Bill and Ted were new to me this year, however certainly not new to the river (I couldn't believe the years of experience on the water the crew had). They were great both on and off the water! Always good to see Hose, Tim and Grant, they are truly people that I look forward to seeing and spending time with every summer. I was telling Travis that I want to grow up to be Tim some day, unfortunately I think I missed my window. Those of us in the service industry don't always hear positive feedback and I want you to know that you and your crew have got this thing dialed in. The whole thing is really first rate and your staff provide great customer service (either you do a great job of hiring or there is just something about river guides (maybe a little of both)), that was my fourth OTT trip and you are batting 1000! Again, thank you for all that you and your staff do, you have provided me with life time memories!
Dan"
Itinerary
Day 1: Meet us at the Rogue River Center in Merlin Oregon at 7:00 AM. If you are going to meet us in Happy Camp CA. (which makes the most sense if you are coming from the south) please meet us at the Ranger Station at 9:30 AM. When meeting we will transfer your luggage for the trip into our van and head the two minutes down to the Indian Creek put-in.
At the put-in you will receive a thorough orientation for whatever river craft you choose to travel in. After everyone is geared up and ready to go we start our down river journey. Today will include numerous big and exciting class III rapids including rattlesnake, trench, independence, dragon's tooth, ukanom, and numerous others. If you like great white water, beautiful scenery, and seeing lots of river miles, this is your trip. Today we will cover over 20 river miles before finding our takeout.
From the takeout we load into the vans and drive a short five minutes to the campground for an evening of great food, refreshments, sitting around the fire, and probably a few games of cards. It's important to get a good nights sleep because the white water of day two will require all of your attention.
Rise in the morning for a filling breakfast as the day starts to warm up. After sitting around the fire we load into the vans and drive 20 minutes to our put-in on the Cal-Salmon River. Our first two miles will be in this crystal clear gorge running numerous class II and III rapids before we arrive at the exciting confluence with the Klamath River.
When we hit the Klamath and navigate the surprisingly fun confluence rapid the real fun will quickly arrive. Just around the corner we will arrive at our first big class III of the day, Pre-Ike. This reasonably easy rapid is a fun chute down the right hand side next to big ledge. A couple hundred yards downstream the river drops away over a thrilling horizon line letting us know we have arrived at IKE Falls. The group will pull over and scout this wild ride allowing anyone who wants to walk around.
After gathering below Ike Falls we will pull over for lunch above the next rapid, lunch box. Lunch box, another fun class III leads into the Big Ike which is known for its plethora of big waves and being the longest rapid of the trip. After Big Ike and some other fun rapids the day concludes with one last big wave before arriving at the vans and back to camp for another night around the fire.
Day three is typically a repeat of either day one or day two depending on what the group is up for.
