    Hola, Yesenia

All four of us are back at our respective homes now, and we wanted to let you know that we were very pleased with the service provided by EcoCircuitos this trip. Our drivers were always very prompt, so every day started on time, and we always felt safe in their care. Park Eden and Los Establos were, as expected, excellent accomodations in all respects.

All of our guides were very knowledgable about their activities, and they were very pleasant fellows, as well. We got the trip off to an excellent start with Jose's tour of Casco Viejo, Panama Vieja and El Valle's attractions. We also found the Embera Encounter to be especially interesting and enjoyable, and would like to thank Jose for his excellent information about them and the area.
I'm sure Jim and Cheri would also like me to thank you once again for taking care of their extra luggage while we were in Boquete.
I will go to your web site, and if there is a place for customers to give you feedback that others may see, you may be sure my comments will be very, very positive.

    Thanks,

    Hi Annie,

I wanted to thank you and your staff for our wonderful day tours. D’Angelo and Joshua were delightful, professional and informative. My family greatly enjoyed all that we learned and saw and aside from the hundreds of photos we took I am happier to say that we take away great memories of Panama. Again, with much thanks and wishes for a wonderful new year.

Day 1 Welcome to Panama

Today at the appropriate time an EcoCircuitos representative will meet you at the Tocumen International Airport to assist and transfer you to your hotel in Panama City. At this time you will receive an EcoCircuitos information kit. Check in and overnight at a hotel of your choice in Panama City.

Day 2 Panama Historical City & Canal Tour

During the morning you will visit the ruins of Old Panama, climb up the Cathedral tower, visit the Old Panama Museum and continue to Casco Antiguo (the old city compound), which dates from the late 1600's. A bilingual guide will describe the events in history leading up to the eventual movement of the capital city to its present location. Casco Antiguo is home to monuments of Ferdinand de Lesseps and other Frenchmen instrumental in the ill-fated attempt of the French to construct a canal through Panama.

The full day tour continues with a visit to the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal where large ships can be seen transiting the canal. Enjoy a presentation by the Panama Canal Authority on the history of the Panama Canal and marvel at the workings of this feat of human engineering. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant.

The tour continues to the Panama Canal area, including the town of Balboa, formerly part of the Panama Canal Zone. You will stop at the folk art market at the old YMCA building. In the late afternoon you will return to your hotel in Panama City.

Optional: Lunch at the Miraflores Locks in the Panama Canal. (B,L)

Day 3 Kayaking the Gatun Lake: Panama Canal

Join us on a kayaking adventure on the Gatún Lake starting from Gamboa, near the Soberania National Park. Paddling Lake Gatun along its pristine bright green banks, between its numerous islands, over the extensive underwater vegetation and through the still standing tips of submerged trees is a real neo-tropical safari. Thousands of wildlife species live in this spectacular environment. The Panama Canal water trails excursions are unforgettable, professionally guided and extremely entertaining for all paddling levels. The journey is a fantastic outdoors experience embracing tropical climate sea kayaking.

After the tour transfer to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort for check in and overnight for 3 nights. (B L)

Day 4 Partial Canal Transit

The Panama Canal Tour starts with an early morning pick-up at your hotel in Panama City for a short transfer to Flamenco Island, at the Causeway of Amador on the Pacific side of the Canal.

You will first sail under the bridge of the Americas, which raises over 100 meters above sea level and reunites the land divided during construction of the Canal forming another link in the Pan-American Highway. Lunch is served in buffet style. The Panama Canal is 80 kilometers long existing of deep waters in the Pacific Ocean to deep waters in the Caribbean Sea. It was cut through the lowest and one of the narrowest saddles of the long mountainous Isthmus that joins North and South America. The original elevation was 95 meters above sea level where it crosses the Continental Divide. You will cross two locks on the Pacific side of the Canal: Miraflores and Pedro Miguel locks.
