Uganda, Africa
Day 1:
ARRIVAL AND WELCOME - Welcome to Uganda. Our friendly English-speaking guide
will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport, Uganda. We’ll stay
overnight at a boutique town hotel in Kampala.
Day 2:
PROJECT VISIT AND ORIENTATION - Today we’ll head out to meet with Kids Club
Kampala, where you can choose to volunteer after your safari! We’ll spend the
morning at the office being briefed about KCK and what to expect, meeting the
office staff and volunteers, followed by lunch all together. After lunch we’ll
go on a walk around the slum and visit a couple of projects where you will be
volunteering after your safari.
Day 3:
WILDLIFE - Today we’ll head out to see the wildlife that Uganda has to offer!
We’ll drive up to Queen Elizabeth national park, where you will have a boat
cruise on the kazinga channel. You’ll see a diversity of wildlife, including
lions, leopards, giraffes, antelopes, elephants and many warthogs on your
Ugandan safari. Stay overnight at a boutique safari lodge at Queen Elizabeth
National Park.
Day 4: THE
RAINFOREST - Morning game drive and then transfer to Bwindi national park.
Bwindi National Park is a world heritage site as it’s biologically one of the
most diverse forests in Africa. Fondly known as the Impenetrable Forest it
remains home to half of the world’s gorilla population. It’s a privilege to be
here. Enjoy the view of the forest from your overnight stay at the rainforest
lodge we have chosen for you.
Day 5: GORILLA TREK - Early morning to trek through the Impenetrable Forest. Find out how it gets its name as you ascend through a mountainous and heavily forested African terrain. It’s all worth it when you may get the chance to get up close to a gorilla family. Spend an hour watching in awe as they play, forage and interact. Capture the moment and trek back to base. Back to your lodge for a well-deserved shower and rest at the rainforest lodge.
Day 6:
DEPARTURE - Today we’ll drive back to Kampala where you’ll either catch a
flight home or be dropped off at the Kids Club Kampala guesthouse, ready to
volunteer with the children of Kampala! If you’ve chosen to volunteer, tomorrow
you’ll get to meet the children and begin your programme! You can also extend your
volunteering experience and stay for 2 weeks if you’d like.
