The tour will begin with pick up from your hotel or airport in Cochin. You will be transferred in an AC vehicle to Munnar in the Western Ghats mountain range a hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite. Your next stop will be Thekkady a haven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, nut-mace, ginger, and clove and noted for its diversity of wild life and scenic beauty. You will also stay for 1 night at Backwater cruise in Alleppey before drop off to your hotel in Cochin or at Cochin airport.

Itinerary

Day 01; Cochin - Munnar (130kms/ 3hrs approx)

Pick up from your hotel/ airport and drive to Munnar check in at hotel. Rest time free and easy to relax and visit the surrounding attraction with your driver. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02; Cochin - Munnar (130kms/ 3hrs approx)

Breakfast at hotel sightseeing in Munnar, visit;

Devikulam - the quaint hill station of rests like a celestial beauty in the midst of luxurious velvet green hills famous for its crystal-clear lake of Sita Devi. 

Rajamala - located at an altitude of about 2695 meters above sea level, the hills are a part of the Rajamala wildlife sanctuary, home to the endangered mountain goat species locally known as Nilgiri Thars. Half of the world’s population of this endangered species is found in this region. 

Mattupetty - famous for its much renowned dairy farm the Indo-Swiss livestock project. A large variety of high yielding cattle are reared in Mattupetty. At a stones throw away lies the picturesque Mattupetty dam and lake. Nearby is the beautiful Kundala Lake and adjoining Tea Plantations.

The hill station of Munnar are synonymous with rolling hills that are carpeted with verdant plantations of tea – a delicious beverage loved worldwide. This place is recognized for having some of the best and most beautiful tea gardens across the globe. Keeping this in mind, Tata Tea established a tea museum to provide an insight into the process that is involved behind every delicious sip of tea. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 03; Munnar - Thekkady (130kms/ 3hrs approx)

Breakfast at hotel morning free to relax and sightseeing with your driver. Afternoon drive to Thekkady check in at hotel.

Later visit Mangla Devi Temple built within the premises of the renowned Periyar Tiger Reserves on the northern boundary a quiet spot with pristine ambiance.

Evening visit Kadathanadan Kalari Centre – The House Of Martial Arts. The center is famous for the renowned Kerala art known as Kalaripayattu. A spot which is unique to Kerala and well designed for self-defense. You can watch this beautiful art form in Thekkady sightseeing from a special gallery.

Day 04; Thekkady

Breakfast at hotel. Explore Periyar National Park rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake during Boat Cruise (2hrs) or Bamboo Raft (3hrs).

Boating the first and foremost activity in Thekkady one can see the wild animals along the gringe of the lake foraging, bathing, drinking and resting. 
Bamboo Raft one gets a panoramic view of forest – clad hills reflected on the lake. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany a maximum of 10 tourists.
Afternoon drive to nearby plantations to know more about the spices of Kerala. About 4000Sq KM of Periyar region is under verdant spice plantations, and main occupations of the natives are spice farming and trading. 

Further visit tribal museum and trekking through the tribal hamlet situated within the periphery of Periyar Tiger accompanies by a tribal guide. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 05; Thekkady - Alleppey (135kms/ 3hrs approx)

Breakfast at hotel drive to Alleppey. Board a houseboat from here and enjoy the cruise through the enchanting backwaters. Alleppey, also called the Venice of East, interlocked with a large number of canals and bridges. Houseboat comprises double/ twin bed room, with attached bathrooms, running water, and a lounge area in which to relax and enjoy the sights on the shore. Start sail through scenic backwaters, passing through one of the few areas in the world where farming is done below sea level. The houseboat will cruise through the Chambakulam area by mid-morning and anchor to explore the boat yard, which displays the traditional long snake boats used in races. Visit St. Mary’s Church, established by St. Thomas in 1721. In the evening, catch a glimpse of village life along the backwaters and experience a way of life unique to this region. The boat will pass through picturesque stretches of the backwaters of Alleppey and moor up for overnight in Vemabanadu Lake. Lunch, dinner and overnight in houseboat.

 

Day 06; Alleppey - Cochin (60kms/ 1.3hrs approx)

After breakfast disembark from houseboat and drive to Cochin drop off to your hotel or airport.
