DAY 1
Lisbon Airport
Arrive at any time. An arrival transfer is included from the airport to the hotel. There are no activities planned for this day. Lunch and dinner are not included. Overnight in Lisbon.
DAY 2
Lisbon – Sintra – Lisbon
Meeting point at the hotel lobby – 09h00 am.
Sintra is 30 km from Lisbon offers a foretaste of Paradise. The soft climate ensures a permanent freshness existence of luxuriant vegetation make Sintra a deeply romantic and mysterious place. Stand out from the Town Palace, the Pena Palace (Ticket entrance included). Visit Piriquita, the pastry of the famous queijada.
See the 16th-century Jeronimo’s Monastery (UNESCO); the Monument to the Discoveries, honoring intrepid Portuguese explorers and their patrons; and the impressive Belem Tower (Tickets are not included). Visit an old patisserie that has managed to hold on to the secret recipe of Portugal. This pastry exists for over 100 years. Enjoy a demonstration and tasting of the famous ‘pastéis de Belem.’
Visit the castle of S. George, considered the most emblematic monument of Lisbon. The Castle of S. George is relevant evidence of odd moments in the history of Lisbon and Portugal. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, conquered it by the Moors.

DAY 3
Lisbon – Óbidos – Fátima– Porto
The meeting point will be at the hotel lobby – 09h00 am.
Your day begins in the medieval walled town of Óbidos. This medieval village is surrounded by walls and by its whitewashed houses. Don’t forget to visit handicraft stores, bookstores and drink Ginja. Ginja is a Portuguese liqueur made by infusing sour cherry in alcohol (brandy is used) and adding sugar together with other ingredients. That is the second most popular alcoholic drink in Portugal after the Port Wine.
This tour also features the imposing sanctuary of Fátima, a center of Catholic faith and destination for pilgrims from across the world. Join the faithful at one of the world’s holiest sites and pay homage at the Chapel of Apparitions. On May 13, 1917, three children were herding sheep. They saw an intense light, thinking it a bolt of lightning, they decided to run away, but another flash lit up the place, and on top of a small holm oak tree, where now stands the Chapel of Apparitions. They saw one Lady from whose hands hung a white rosary.
The Lady told the three children that it was necessary to pray and asked them to return to the same place during five consecutive months on the 13th day at the same hour. The Virgin is said to have revealed the Three Secrets of Fatima to the children.
The Sanctuary of Fatima is a pilgrimage place, motivated by the apparitions of Our Lady to the three shepherds.

DAY 4
Porto
Meeting point at the hotel lobby – 09h00 am.
Elected Best European Destination 2012 by the European citizens, Porto is history, architecture, culture, gastronomy, trade, encounters, and discoveries. On this walking tour in Porto, you will visit the city’s historical center of world heritage and monuments. The itinerary has 3 hours – without a car. We will visit: Torre dos Clérigos, Livraria Lello e Irmão, Avenida dos Aliados, Saint Bento Train Station, Cathedral, Bairro da Sé, Ponte LuÃs I, and Ribeira. Tickets are not included.
We will then visit a small story in Porto and learn a few secrets about olive oil in Portugal. That is included a proof of three Portuguese olive oils. We will then taste some Portuguese products: cheese, sausage, ham, olive oil, wine, and bread. We will cross the Douro River and visit a Port Wine Cellars (Included: standard two great wines) in the afternoon.

DAY 5
Arcos De Valdevez
Free time in Porto. Lunch is not included. After lunch, private transfer to Arcos de Valdevez (the rural village). Meeting point at the hotel lobby – 03h00 pm.
Today we will visit the countryside. After a few days of visiting the most tourist cities, we will visit the real Portugal without mass tourism. Therefore, the landscape will be different. You will sleep in the heart of Minho and at the door of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. We prepare adventures in nature! We will explore some of the greenest Portuguese regions, remote villages, and authentic cultural heritage!
Dinner in the rural hotel, you can help the chef Vasco prepare dinner (hands-on cooking class in Portugal). This hotel promotes slow Food in Portugal. Do you know what that means?
Slow Food promotes using local products and cooks traditional dishes. Slow Food started in 1986. Carlo Petrini had this idea, and he spread it worldwide. The aims are to promote local small businesses, and it is against the globalization of agricultural products.
Duration: 1/2 day. Overnight in Arcos de Valdevez (countryside).
DAY 6
Arcos De Valdevez
Visit the vineyard and learn more about Vinho Verde. Enjoy this beautiful landscape during the picnic lunch in the middle of nature. Dinner in the rural hotel, you can help the chef Vasco prepare dinner (hands-on cooking class in Portugal). The cooking classes will focus on seasonal produce and will be held in the hotel's working kitchen. At the end of the cooking class, dinner will be served in the nearby dining room. The meal will comprise the dishes prepared during the cooking class and complemented with local wines chosen by the chef. Duration: 1 day. Overnight in Arcos de Valdevez (countryside).
DAY 7
Arcos De Valdevez - Braga
Bread Making. This hands-on cooking class has unique components: the traditional bread making, using several kinds of corn, and wheat is grown in the area and used in the typical local bread, like Minho cornbread, in Portuguese - broa de milho! This bread is a large, compact core and a little sweet (hands-on cooking class in Portugal with the chef Vasco).
In the afternoon, a guided walking tour of the historic towns of Braga. Dinner is not included. Duration: 1/2 day. Overnight in Braga.
DAY 8
Porto Airport
Transfer to the airport. End of Portugal Food Tours. There are no activities planned for this day. Lunch and dinner are not included.
Suggestion: Book extra night & Douro Valley Tour (Post-tour extension).
The Douro Valley (Portugal) is the birthplace of Port Wine. It is a great destination for a day trip from Braga that guarantees many amazing memories, authentic Portuguese culture, and stunning green countryside views. The travelers learn about the wine-making process while strolling vineyard grounds, but they can also taste a few regional wines.
