This multisport adventure takes you to the real Jamaica, far from the all-inclusive resorts and gated beaches. By sharp contrast, you will explore the island and experience the hospitality and culture of Jamaica that few know. Jamaica is an island of great variety and this trip immerses you in the land and the people. Accommodations throughout the trip are in comfortable inns, and meals showcase traditional foods of the Caribbean island.
It was the indigenous Taino inhabitants that named this island Xaymaca, or “land of wood and water.” Countless rivers and waterfalls flow down from Jamaica's heavily-forested mountains. Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean and enjoys a warm tropical climate. The Blue Mountains inland offer some reprise from the coastal heat and also have many opportunities for outdoor activities. ROW has selected several of the finest for its 10-day Jamaica adventure.
The island may be smaller than a lot of countries, but its culture is as rich and diverse as any. ROW's Jamaica Multisport adventure explores the history and culture that makes this vibrant island nation a popular destination year after year. Plenty of time is spent on the beach in the sun, but we also take you into the mountains and onto the rivers. You'll visit the Bob Marley Museum, see impressive waterfalls, float the Rio Grande on traditional bamboo rafts, visit a coffee plantation and much more. Along the way, we stay in small, less-crowded inns for a more authentic, less touristy, Jamaican experience.
