Itinerary
Days 1-2
Cape Town / Cape Peninsula
In spectacular Cape Town, we view the city from atop famous Table Mountain, and the next day, head out for a visit to the legendary Cape of Good Hope, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. Along the way, we explore the penguin rookeries at Boulders Beach, the historic wine estate of Groot Constantia, founded in 1685, and the acclaimed botanical gardens at Kirstenbosch.
Days 3-5
The Garden Route
Forested mountains plunge to the Indian Ocean on the Garden Route. Here we hike breathtaking trails past tidal pools, indigenous forest, and along the magnificent rocky coastline at Tsitsikamma National Park. Overnights are at The Fernery, a gorgeous hideaway with serene chalets tucked along a river.
Days 6-7
Drakensberg Mountains
We hike trails across the dramatic Drakensbergs, an extraordinary landscape of cliffs, buttresses, and spires. Our deluxe mountain lodge features spacious thatched chalets with amazing views of the Drakensberg’s natural amphitheater.
Days 8-11
Gameviewing at Londolozi Game Reserve / Greater Kruger
No fences lie between Londolozi and renowned Kruger National Park, and the combined ecosystem offers one of the highest and most diverse wildlife populations in Africa. We savor amazing gameviewing at award-winning Londolozi, encountering lion, elephant, buffalo, white rhino, and more—and Londolozi’s leopard tracking is out of this world. Depart on Day 11, or join our Shumbalala or Cape Town Extensions.
