Itinerary
Days 1-4
Lakes, Volcanoes, Ancient Forests
From Puerto Varas, adventure capital of the Lake District, head to Alerce Andino National Park to hike in towering old-growth forests of 3,000-year-old giant alerces. The next day, hike the sculpted lava fields of snow-capped Osorno Volcano. Options on Day 4 include mountain biking, rafting, and exploring local hikes and hot springs.
Days 5-8
Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn
Snow-capped 7,000-foot summits rise from deep-cut fjords and massive glaciers tumble to the sea in Tierra del Fuego. Aboard the deluxe expedition ship M/V Mare Australis, voyage from Chile to Argentina via breathtaking Cape Horn, epic land's end on the tip of the continent, enjoying Zodiac explorations and hikes.
Days 9-10
Shall We Dance?
Enjoy Buenos Aires, birthplace of the tango, with a tango show or lesson. Depart on Day 10.
