Founded by vegetarians for vegetarian and vegan travelers, VegVoyages offers unique off-the-beaten-track adventures to exotic destinations in Asia. VegVoyages is not your conventional tour company. We do not hand off your holiday to agents. Instead, we oversee each journey personally to ensure more personal attention. On each of our adventures we not only visit the "must see" places but also spend plenty of time well off the beaten "tourist trail" often staying in villages and other areas far less visited, giving you a chance to gain real insight into the regions culture and heritage. With VegVoyages you are not just a number, but a fellow traveler. That's why we keep our groups to a maximum size of 8 people. The aim of every one of our adventures is for the history, culture and way-of-life of the destination to come to life for our fellow travelers. On all our adventures, the itineraries have been carefully designed to appreciate and respect the local cultures, customs and lifestyles, rather than imposing ourselves on them. In addition to plenty of mouthwatering vegetarian/vegan food and lots of local interaction, our adventures also include hiking, snorkeling, safaris, nature walks, yoga lessons and more. Whether traversing the badlands of Rajasthan or the primeval rainforests of Malaysia or discovering the reefs of the South China Sea, our goal is to bring you the best of vegetarian Asia! Also, an underlying principle of VegVoyages is to actively support environmental, animal protection and community development causes in each of our destinations.

Ecological/Environmental Impact

As well as actively supporting small scale village based local organic farms, vegetarian and environmentally friendly indigenous businesses and communities, a portion of all VegVoyages adventure proceeds are donated to local animal protection and community development causes. VegVoyages adventure leaders and staff endorse sustainable tourism practices and encourage all guests to learn about and follow similar sustainable principles.

Sociological Impact

VegVoyages groups are small (8 people maximum) this lessens the environmental and social impact on our destinations. Our adventure leaders educate guests on the customs and cultures of each destination and encourage our guests to interact with locals in a positive manner where all involved will learn and appreciate each other�s differences and similarities. We stay in locally run guesthouses/hotels and homes and use only locally produced ingredients in our vegetarian meals ensuring all money stays in the community.

Economic Impact

By utilizing locally owned accommodations, transport, local chefs and labor and purchasing only locally grown/produced products, VegVoyages ensures that financial benefits remain in the local communities. VegVoyages also encourages its guests to buy souvenirs, handicrafts and/or items that are produced locally � again benefiting the communities that we visit. All local VegVoyages employees are paid a fair wage.

Best Practices

VegVoyages only takes small groups thus lessening the environmental and cultural impacts. We also use locally produced ingredients, visit and donate to local schools and stay in locally owned accommodations. VegVoyages actively encourages human-to-human interaction and learning by teaching guests about local cultural etiquette and customs. In addition to organizing vegetarian travel alternatives, we don�t use animals for safaris and we contribute to local animal protection and community projects.
