Ecological/Environmental Impact

A lot of the tours we run are located in areas where the environment is fragile. We are committed to leaving a positive lasting effect on the places we visit while minimizing our ecological 'footprint'. Where it's possible we stay in eco-lodges, and many of our volunteer opportunities are with environmental conservation projects. Company members practice 'green living' in their day to day lives, and money is donated yearly to the sustainable development projects we work with.

It is important to contribute as much as possible into the economy you are visiting. By eating in restaurants that use locally farmed products, using local transport where possible and buying locally made crafts at a fair price, we can help to achieve this end. Other sustainable practices include tipping guides, musicians, servers, cooks, and porters, as wages in the countries we visit are often low, and tipping for a job well done can make a world of difference for somebody. By 'spreading the wealth' we can ensure that the local communities we visit receive the benefit of tourism as an economic source.
