For centuries, the nomadic Sami people of Sweden migrated through the lynx- and wolverine-inhabited mountains and marshes above the Arctic Circle in Lapland (a northern Swedish province). They packed their belongings onto reindeer and took refuge in tents and teepees (called lavu's). Pathfinder Lapland's handful of trekking and skiing trips are as close as you'll get to experiencing traditional Sami culture: The guides are Sami; the routes they use trace ancient pathways created by reindeer; and you sleep in tents and eat meals of reindeer meat and fish.
Together with us, you will have an opportunity to explore unspoiled nature and the culture of an indigenous people, in a natural and personal manner. We offer you a journey trough the Sami culture, from ancient history to the reindeer herder's life today.
