Choosing Quark Expeditions for your polar adventure Even today, the Arctic and Antarctic regions are inaccessible to most - unless you're traveling with Quark. We pioneered passenger travel to these wild and remote regions. For 15 years, we have led the way in polar adventure. Our People From our ships' Captains to the world-renowned members of our Expedition Teams, there isn't a more experienced and knowledgeable group of polar specialists anywhere. Our Ships Our polar-class Icebreakers and Adventure Ships are capable of taking you to places that other ships cannot reach. Our Expedition Ships provide relaxed, comfortable adventures. Our Passion Our passion is infectious. As one traveler put it, "I have never met a group of such enthusiastic people." The Wildlife In Antarctica, we take you to see Emperor Penguins earlier in the rearing season than anyone else. During our expeditions to the Antarctic Peninsula , you might encounter Adelie, Gentoo and Chinstrap Penguins. Whales and seals are often seen from the ship, the shore or while cruising in Zodiacs. Our biologists and ornithologists share their understanding of the Antarctic wildlife's life cycles. In the Arctic, elusive narwhal, solitary polar bear, walrus and a variety of seals may be seen. Call us to learn which expedition is the best for viewing birds or animals. The Icebergs Antarctica has the largest icebergs. Greenland produces the most icebergs in the Arctic. The best time to see ice and snow in Antarctica is early in the season. Choose either the Arctic Adventure or Greenland Odyssey expedition if you want to see icebergs in the Arctic.
