The Boat Company is a family owned and operated, nonprofit, luxury small ship cruise operator in Southeast Alaska's Tongass National Forest.  We are the longest running small ship cruise operator having just celebrated our 30th year of Luxury Alaska Cruises.  We are the only small ship cruise operator endorsed by Orvis, and the only one that offers hiking, kayaking, beach combing and fishing on a daily basis as part of your package.  We are all-inclusive, once on board the vessel, you'll only need to worry about what activities you'd like to do over the week you are our guest.


We have two vessels, the M/V LISERON (a converted WWII wooden hulled naval minesweeper) and the M/V MIST COVE (a replica of the LISERON).  All of our staterooms are on the main deck or above, and all open out to the deck with full size picture windows and doors.  All stateroom are identical, with full bathrooms in every stateroom, queen size beds and enough room to relax and get a peaceful nights sleep.  We serve gourmet meals, have a full open, top shelf bar and the entire boat is open to all guests.  Feel free to hang out in the galley with the chef's, or up in the wheel house with the captain (you may even steer the vessel around if your lucky).

We are also the only operating nonprofit cruise line in Alaska.  We devote all proceeds beyond general operating costs to conservation issues in the area's we cruise.  Be it hiking trail restoration work by Sitka Trailworks, or Wild Alaskan Salmon hatchery operations by NSRAA, or teaming with conservation groups to fund lawsuits to prevent the timber industry from cutting what remains of this beautiful National Forest.

We were started as a program of The McIntosh Foundation, and along with the foundation have been the primary funders of conservation efforts in the Tongass dating back to 1971.  Every major environmental law suit filed on behalf of The Tongass National Forest has been funded in part by either The McIntosh Foundation and/or The Boat Company.
