Itinerary
DAYS 1 – 3: DELHI / LEH
Commencing with an overnight in Delhi, the
expedition group meets and fl ies to Leh.
Sitting at 3,500 m (nearly 11,500 ft), this
is your fi rst taste of altitude. A full brief will
be undertaken, with your fi rst day resting to
acclimatise.
DAYS 4 – 11: LEH / ZINCHEN / LEH
Within these high valleys is the highest
density of the “great grey cat”. Surviving off
a prey base of bharal (blue sheep) and ibex, the
snow leopards descend in the winter to maximize
hunting. Overhead Golden Eagles make their
nests on impossible cliffs as they survey small
settlements of Tibetan farmers who eke out an
existence on the valley fl oors below. Walking
between two to fi ve hours per day your expedition
leader will determine your route dependent
on weather conditions and wildlife sightings,
stopping frequently to silently scan the slopes for
signs. You will supported throughout by a small
team, with a simple tented camp.
DAY 12: LEH / DELHI
You return to Leh and Delhi, to connect with your
outbound fl ight.
