Adventures in Good Company has been offering worldwide adventure travel for women of all ages since 1999. Some of our trips are physically challenging, others are accessible to any healthy woman, and all are designed to provide our participants with a deeper connection to the country and culture than standard tours allow. Small groups, excellent guides, great food, personal service and the joy and camaraderie of traveling with other like-minded women set us apart from the standard tour company.

Ecological/Environmental Impact

Adventures in Good Company practices Leave No Trace Policies appropriate to the areas we travel in. Our maximum group size is small. We practice recycling both in the office and on trips, purchase organic or locally sourced food where possible, encourage alternatives to drinking bottled water, and seek to reduce or reuse in all our areas of operation.

Sociological Impact

On international trips we work with local operators who are committed to responsible practices. We educate our participants about the cultural norms of the places we visit and appropriate behavior. We also provide participants with opportunities to interact with local people in culturally appropriate ways.

Economic Impact

We give 25% of our pretax profits to non-profits that encourage sustainable development or work with the indigenous populations of the places we travel. By working with local operators we ensure that the money we pay benefits the local economy.

Best Practices

We are currently reviewing each of our trips to look for ways to enhance our positive impact and reduce our negative impacts. In 2008 we are working towards making our trips carbon neutral and encouraging our participants to offset the carbon cost of their plane travel.
